The long term staff here are superb, they are trying to do the impossible. The home never has the same staff it's always here today gone tomorrow or agency. One particular manager is not fully funded or supported by management who are rarer to spot on site than a dodo. If turnover of staff is so high as per previous reports there must be a common denominator?. Care given to patients is excellent given the boundaries they have to operate within.

My dad was here and I don't believe he was looked after as professionally as I wanted or would expect. Staff are not always available in pairs for lifting. The home continually smelt of urine inbedded into the entire carpet which was not pleasant and can be avoided by cleaning regularly. Food was ok but essential condiments not included, and drinks not always served in correct cup or beaker. A bad experience watching poor cars for my father as a son not impressed and can't recommend to others.

I must say it appears that most care assistant staff work very hard especially one, where nothing is any trouble a devoted member of staff. Have to say the home has a strong smell of wee throughout the corridor very pungent! This needs carpet cleaning or a hard floor surface.... My husband stayed here this year and although he had decent Wiltshire heated meals prepared he was never provided with salt and pepper with meals and after he asked noone returned with his request. It's a basic request. Also drinks weren't always brought in a beaker as his hands were straining to hold it. His table was too low to eat from in his room and chairs too low in the bedroom. There was a wait when he needed getting off comode. This home needs to address these key issues and include landlines that residents can rent immediately as they need to contact loved ones and not wait 6 weeks to pay to get someone in. It's a poor mobile signal area...I do have concerns that residents are not provided with appropriate beds for their needs eg bed sores etc where they need an airflow mattress. I am drawn to highlight these issues and concerns so other families don't go through what our family witnessed with my husband here.

My father has been in the Beaufort since May and my sister and I could not have chosen a better care home. He is very well looked by the ever caring staff and I have never had cause for complaint. My father has to be fed and he is given three good hot meals a day. The care home is tireless in the way they care for my father who can be very demanding. We visit daily and we have never once had to help in the lifting of my father. The staff have always done it for us and are constantly around to help. Nothing is too much trouble. The home does not smell. It n!eeds to be kept warm for the residents but the garden door is frequently open during good weather as are the bedroom windows. I have no hesitation in leaving my father in the Beaufort for end of life care.

I beg to differ with the report written by anonymous in August 2015 that states that the Beaufort is unsuitable for end of life care. My dad requires constant end of life care and is very demanding. The staff are wonderful with him and with the other residents. My family and I visit the care home every single day at various different times and have done so for several months, and we spend a lot of time there. We have seen the residents happily eating the delicious meals provided, and residents are attended to as and when they need help. I have seen staff dashing off to attend those ringing buzzers from their rooms. The staff do not have time to stand around chatting to each other and are very conscientious and caring. The care home most certainly does not smell! If it did I would not let my dad stay there. I recommend this care home to anybody who is looking for care for their elderly relatives.
