29 Bushey Hall Road is a specialist residential service for adults with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour. Service users are supported to develop person centred plans that promote increased choice, control over their lives and independence.
Our experienced team works in partnership with families, carers, advocates and public service professionals to ensure that the support provided is pro-active and appropriate.
We actively follow the principles of Person Centred Planning, Person Centred Active Support, SPELL and Intensive Interaction. These principles ensure that service users are able to express their wishes, make choices and take part in meaningful activities, with the ultimate aim of increasing their independence, self esteem and wellbeing.
Our Total Communication approach enables staff to implement individualised communication strategies for service users with severe communication and sensory difficulties.
We support service users to choose and take part in activities that develop social, communication and life skills. These range from support in daily life skills such as shopping and cooking through to college placements, voluntary and paid work placements and leisure activities.
“The service has managed challenging behaviour from an adult with ASC and complex needs well, ensuring he accesses the community and activities he enjoys often.”
