Wasn’t entirely happy with the overall care my Gran received over the year she was resident but most of the care staff all seemed very nice and as long as my Gran seemed happy we put up with it but then in March she developed COVID and never really picked up from then. The Manager of the home allowed the residents to have their second Covid booster only a 1-2 weeks after most of the residents were just getting over their bout of covid. At this time my Gran had a “controlled fall” while transferring with a nurse and a carer. This resulted in a chipped bone in her shoulder, although this was only discovered when my Uncle took her to Hospital for an x-ray over a month later, she was in agony. After this she was on constant bed rest causing horrific bed sores which although the Home got a special mattress for her she was in extreme discomfort. She rapidly went downhill from this point and died in the middle of June. We were told to let the Manager know the Funeral details as they like to send a representative, this didn’t happen |
