Rivers Hospital

was admitted for a NHS Day Surgery procedure. From the moment I first saw him at my consultation he was kind, considerate and most of all listened to me. He gave me options for my complaint and helped me decide. I was admitted soon after and was treated with dignity and kindness from the moment I entered. My two nurses who cared for me, were extremely professional, explained everything to me and were very friendly which put me at ease. Everyone was fantastic, from the theatre staff and also in recovery. The room and hospital was spotless, clean and very comfortable. I really can’t say enough about my experience today and would like to thank you all.

So I had appointment at 3.30 pm last week and the consultant informed me he would make an appointment in 6-8 weeks ok fine ( I have been waiting since 8th feb because west esse ccg had decommissioned the pain service .)but in a letter I have from them it said a error in the wording they didn’t decommissioned the service . So I telephone Wednesday to say I couldnt make an am appointment and get told by the reception to try another hospital and I ask for management got put through to somebody I thought was management but find out the next day she was only a PA and she tells me she would make sure 100% that somebody telephoned me back that day .I wait until 5.20pm and starting telephoning them again on hold for 15-20 mins then get to speak to a matron that informs me was is the person who was meant to telephone me back. Anyway one person telling me the consultant was do west Essex a favour and he couldn’t get a room pm and another person telling me he only works between 9.30 and 12 which I could make then the matron who had telephoned me back once before does again and leaves a message saying the consultant may be able to do early afternoon which is just about ok but can’t confirm very hard to deal with as always in meetings . I have asked that they send me complaint info but have had nothing as of yet . Guess it will invoke me telephone from me to chase this up all so very poor service from a ramsay health care hosiptail.
