Twice in a row I had appointment cancellations, and for every one of those appointments I had to take time off work and drop other things. I was given very short notice every time for the cancellations. The second time I was phoned 10 minutes prior to my appointment as I was driving there. When the receptionist told me that my appointment has been cancelled. I explained I was frustrated but she was blunt and didn't really care, asking "Do you want to rearrange or not?" uncaring about any inconvenience this caused and didn't even apologise. A few weeks later, I phoned to arrange an appointment, but the same receptionist told me that I had requested not to be seen by them again (although I hadn't) telling me to find another clinic! A very rude receptionist, and, reading the previous review, I'm not the only one who finds them rude. I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone. Reply from Knibbs Dental Surgery Fri, 16 Aug 2019 11:10:49 +0100 I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your recent telephone call with our practice. Cancelling appointments is not something we like to do and avoid as best we can; however sickness or equipment failure can not be fore seen and on these occasions, we are not given much time to contact patients. The reason for the cancellation should have been explained to you with an apology. The nearest appointment is always offered and a place on our short notice list too. If a patient informs us that they do not wish to return, this too is noted on the records and marked as inactive to avoid automated recalls being sent to the patient and to update our records. The receptionist would have seen this notification and it would have prevented an appointment being made. Again I am sorry that you were not happy with the administration and service provided at the practice, if you wish to contact me directly, please write to me at knibbs.dentalsurgery@nhs.net and I will be happy to look into this further for you. i recently visited the surgery to have a tooth extraction. As I hadn’t had a tooth out for about 60 years I was a little apprehensive. I needn’t have worried as the service was second to none. My dentist and his assistant has always been very kind and cheerful to my husband and myself . Thank you. Hazel. |
