I’ve seen the dentist a couple of times - totally understanding & empathic - tooth removed with no drama despite me being extremely anxious- would completely recommend to a nervous patient - Can’t thank her enough & nursing staff so supportive

I had a partial crown fall out before Christmas but initially I had no ill effects and delayed making an appointment at my assigned dental practice. However over a few days my tooth started to ache and the pain caused me to phone my dental practice to ask for an urgent appointment. I was offered an appointment two plus weeks later. I was given a phone number to contact to seek for an urgent appointment at another practice. I was given an appointment at this practice. It is my local practice that I used to attend until my dentist left and I had to ask NHS to find me a surgery that would accept an NHS patient. I was very pleased to have been given an appointment an hour after I rang the urgent care service. I attended the Lenham practice and was welcomed and I completed the necessary form. I saw the dentist and his nurse helped to reassure me. The tooth was badly damaged and I was xrayed to see if there was root damage. I was offered a temporary process to reduce the pain or an extraction. I was very frightened but I felt that as there was so little of the tooth remaining, I opted for an extraction. I was given two injections and the nurse was so good holding my shoulder as reassurance. I felt almost nothing as the injections were carried out and a short wait outside and with my mouth very numb I was invited back into the surgery and the tooth was removed. It was uncomfortable but I was very relieved that the tooth was removed. What an excellent service and I am hoping that the practice will be able to offer me an NHS place when they have a vacancy on their list.
