My son developed toothache so we went along for an appointment. We were told that root canal work would be needed so we booked the next appointment. The dentist planted a seed of fear my telling my son that it would probably be painful. When we attended for the appointment to have the work done, I mentioned to the dentist that my son had never had dental work carried out before and was quite understandablt nervous. The dentist looked at my son and said something along the lines that the treatment would be painful so would you prefer to be referred for an extraction under anaesthetic? My son was really worried about the treatment and saw a way out so said yes! I expressed my dissatisfaction and said that we were here to have the work done and I couldn’t quite believe that he’d terrified my son, and then given him a way out that would leave him with a gap in his teeth. He clearly didn’t want to do the work so we left. I was very angry. Besides this, the waiting area is dark and dingy and feels a little unclean. They always used to muddle my records with someone of the same name who lived in a neighbouring town. Phones go unanswered and calls are never returned. All a bit of a shambles. It’s definitely worth adding that we have since registered with an alternative dentist who said the tooth needed a filling rather than root canal work. The work has now been carried out and thankfully my son won’t have a lifelong fear of the dentist as a result of her professional and kind nature. He could have lost a tooth unnecessarily. Avoid, especially if you’re a bit nervous anyway.
