The treatment provided by this dentist surgery is average at best...if you get as far as attending the appointment you booked that is. Over the last two and a half years I have had 6-monthly appointments with this surgery, and additional hygienist appointments as and when required. With the exception of one of the hygienist appointments, they have all been cancelled and re-booked by the surgery with no consultation with myself other than to receive a letter notifying me that my appointment has been changed. I always ask for a friday appointment because, like most people, I work and fridays are the only weekday that is convenient for my work schedule. This is on my patient notes, or I hope it is because I have requested it every time I have had to call and re-arrange my re-booked appointment. Yet without fail every time they move my appointment to another day of the week and I have to call them and change it again and re-book time off work. Yet another letter arrived today notifying me that my October appointment has been moved to a Tuesday. I think I'll be changing dentist, and I wish I'd done it sooner. Reply from Old Harlow Dental Practice Fri, 27 Sep 2019 13:48:33 +0100 Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you are dissatisfied with our services. Unfortunately sometimes we do have to change appointments due to unexpected circumstances, holidays or other reasons that can not be foreseen at the time of the initial booking. We always try to accommodate patient's needs with regards to times and days that suit them for their appointments and if we have to make changes we still try to provide an alternative suitable option. As a means of communicating any changes, we have selected written correspondence as it is the safest way to ensure communication is received and we always include in the letter our contact details and a kind request to contact us if the appointment we have offered as an alternative is not suitable for them. It is quite unfortunate this has happened more than once in your case. We would appreciate it if you could contact us to check what exactly has happened and provide a satisfactory resolution. Kind regards Old Harlow Dental Practice |

I had problems with two back teeth, one of them needed root canal treatment and the other one needed re-place very old big filling. I wanted to have private crown initially and got quote. When treatment started state of the teeth weren't great. My dentist explained to me that crown may last a few weeks or last months or even years so he recommended to have NHS crown instead. I took his advice and had NHS ones. He could up sell private crown but he was considering patient interest. I still have crown he fitted over year ago and am very happy with treatment outcome. |
