This was my second time for sedation at this dental centre, I am a very nervous patient but I was made to feel calm and in control of my dental plan. I was reassured throughout my treatment, some of which I can remember. The after care was also excellent, I would fully recommend this dentist. |

I was referred to Winton Dental centre by my own dentist needing an extraction under sedation. I’m an extremely nervous patient but from start to finish I felt nothing but comfortable and at ease with my experience here. I’m very grateful for the way in which I was treated and despite being extremely anxious about the sedation I would not hesitate to have treatment this way again. |

These aren’t my usual dentist. I was referred to My Dentist one winton by my normal dentist to have my back lower wisdom tooth extracted under IV Sedation. All the way up to the appointment I was so so nervous and honestly scared for the day I had to go in and have the minor operation done. The whole sedation part and the potential pain is what scared me about it. I read reviews both on the NHS website and on Google and to be honest it didn’t really help my nerves at first because there was a fair amount of negative as well as positive. On the week of my appointment I called a couple days before and expressed my concerns about being sedated etc, but the receptionist I spoke to was so understanding and so patient and went through the entire procedure of what will happen on the day with me over the phone. That helped a lot and I really appreciated it. On the day of my appointment I was still so scared and nervous, which is normal to feel, but I was welcomed into the practice and everyone was so kind, welcoming, understanding and reassuring. No one made me feel intimidated or stupid for feeling the way I did. I went into see the dentist and she was so lovely, in the room with her with the Anaesthetists gentleman who was also so lovely. They both made sure I was ok, went through any concerns I had and made sure I understood the procedure, aftercare and what to expect as well as the complications that can occur but are very rare. The sedation part was absolutely fine. An injection of it was put into the back of my hand and within a minute I felt it and it was nothing to worry about. Soon after the dentist injected me with a local anaesthetic and before starting she made sure I felt no pain. I did feel a slight pain so she gave me a bit more until I didn’t. Once ready, it felt like 30 seconds and it was all over. I felt literally no pain at all. I was awake and still aware of what was going on. I was then taken into a recovery room until the nurse was happy for me to leave with my other half. So if you’re going in for a similar procedure and you’re feeling anxious or scared... don’t, it’s absolutely fine, you’re well looked after and everyone is truly fantastic. Don’t pay any attention to any of the negative reviews you may find because I really couldn’t fault a thing. Thank you so much to everyone at the My Dentist practice at Winton. |
