The receptionist is rude, intimidating and unwelcoming. The dentist is now accommodating at all. I was told if I couldn’t make the appointment I wouldn’t be able to reapply to be a patient either. I feel coerced into spending £21.60 just to avoid being abused by the receptionist. |

I hadnt been to the dentist in my whole adult life as I have a very bad phobia. My teeth hadnt really caused me any apparent problems in that time but I knew I had bad tarter problems and that was only adding to my phobia! However i got a wake up call one morning when I discovered a loose tooth at the lower front of my mouth. So i went online and searched for local dentists and emailed this one, explaining all of my fears and concerns, as i could be brave on a keyboard! Saying that just doing that brought me out in a sweat. Anyway a very nice receptionist called me back and reassured me that the dentist was very nice and calming and that I genuinely had nothing to worry about in regards to being nervous. Still i remained extremely scared and in all honesty I was having nightmares and it was all I could think about. I was even debating just losing my teeth and not going but im only in my thirties! I was having this constant battle in my head! So on the morning of my first appointment I woke up in a right state, I dont know how i made the walk there but I did and the dentist I met was so calming, they explained everything thoroughly to me about what they was going to do. However even throughout the first examination I could not stop my mouth, tongue and whole body from shaking through nerves but I was reassured throughout and given time to try and relax. I was given a diagnosis, a treatment plan and with that came the determination, increased trust and confidence to attend the next one. I have since been back and I still have my loose tooth but there is an active plan to try and stabilise it and prevent further damage. I dont know if its on my notes from the first time about how nervous I was but I was given the same dentist, who continued to be very reassuring, I was given opportunity to stop midtreatment and relax again. Im just so pleased that I have gone through with it and im hoping the nerves will lessen each time. |

I first saw my new dentist last Friday and my nerves were immediately put at ease when I saw how friendly and caring the dentist was to an elderly patient. The dentist was warm polite and very gentle whilst treating me.They explained in detail why I was having problems with my gums (an infection) and gave me medication, tips and advised me on preventing a reoccurrence. The dentist even explained why I continually had a dry mouth which is due to my medication which means I am more prone to dental problems. They also explained why l had lumps on either side of my cheeks (teeth grinding) which helped reassure me that it was not something more serious. I have recommended the dentist to my daughter who is anxious and has a fear of dentists as I think they will be able to help her. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend this dentist for excellent patient care. |
