I’ve been going to this practice for many years now as an NHS patient. The treatment is excellent, high-quality stuff, everything is explained to you very clearly and choices are offered. All the equipment is very modern and new techniques are used all the time. I’ve never had any problems after treatments here and I’ve always felt comfortable in the chair (and I’m not the most confident of dental patients). The dentists are nice guys. I was treated by a particular dentist for many years, and more recently by another dentist. They take real pride in their work and they’re good to talk to – the conversation isn’t just generic stuff, they genuinely remember you and what your life is about. I’m not a regular visitor to dental hygienists, but the hygientist gave my teeth a thorough clean recently and left me feeling much better for it. I’d recommend their work also. Sometimes the dentists recommend treatments that I can’t afford, but once you make it clear that you need to stick to NHS care, no more is said. I feel if I’m clear about that, it isn’t an issue. I’ve never been called at home and offered treatments. Sometimes I have an HC certificate for help with dental costs and it has always been accepted positively.

Let’s face it no one likes to go to dentists! I have to admit my experience at Pure Smiles was so positive it changed my attitude. It was really easy to make an appointment. I was impressed when I walked in. The practice has a really fresh and friendly atmosphere. The staff is really welcoming and helpful. After they examined me the dentist - who has an extremely calming presence – explained to me what my options were based on his diagnosis. They let me take the decision gently guiding me towards what they thought would be best for me. I never felt pushed towards a more expensive treatment. While in the chair I felt relaxed as I knew I was in good hands. Interestingly, by putting a special gel on my gum, I didn’t even feel when the needle went in (usually my worst nightmare) The dentist kept me posted of what they were doing every step of the way which helped me keep calm and occupied my mind so time was going faster. ( I hate when I don’t know what is happening in my mouth and try guessing…) Every time I returned for treatment I felt I am being cared for very professionally, never felt any pain and was never rushed. The after treatment plan/information was clear, the receptionist also gave me a leaflet to take home with me. (lucky cos I couldn’t remember everything) I can full heartedly recommend this practice to everyone who wants professional dental care in a friendly environment at affordable prices.
