Avoid! I am new to the area, and had a filling fall out a few days ago. Decided to try this surgery after seeing that they offer NHS rates for treatment on their website. Please do not be under the impression that they will treat you at these prices, they will not. They try to dress it up as a standard/economy pricing system. The dentist here brazenly tried to get as much money out of me as he possibly could. Initially tried to charge me £60 for a £45 appointment by trying to make me agree to it being an emergency appointment, which is wasn't. He explained that he would complete a full examination for £45 or examine my one tooth which had a filling missing for £60. Of course for the lower price he was going to see everything he needed to see anyway. Why try to trick me in to paying more?
Then he mentioned my last hygienist appointment which I said I'd had a year previously. He told me he could do hygiene for me. I said that sounds like something I'd be interested in, thinking I'd have to make another appointment or at least be told how much it would cost me. He did it before I really knew what was happening. It cost me £85. That coupled with the initial £45 examination fee came to a total of £130 and I had not even had the filling replaced that I needed! I asked the receptionist how much they were going to charge for my filling. She said £155! For a small non complicated filling! So South Ealing Dental Practice would have cost me a total of £285 to have a check up, a filling replaced (no drilling required) and a hygiene treatment that I did not even ask for. Thankfully I left after this, called Ealing Dental Care, had an examination and the filling replaced in the same appointment for £70. Less than half the price of just the filling appointment alone at South Ealing. Complete con artists. |
