Dentists are OK but the reception staff are awful. I wont be going back nor would I recommend the practice because the reception staff really are terrible. Avoid! |

After a brief discussion at a check up appointment, the dentist suggested I might like to consider having a replacement white filling for an amalgam one that I have since a child in one of my front teeth. It was at the back of the tooth so was never visible, however I had noticed the tooth was becoming discoloured.
After giving this some thought I decided to go ahead with the procedure. I was quite nervous as despite regular dental care I have not had a filling for 50 years! My experiences then were not pleasant.
The dentist conducted the whole procedure in a caring, informative way and it was totally pain free. I didn’t even feel the local anaesthetic injection. I am very pleased with result and the cost didn’t break the bank.
Thank you so much to the dentist. Cannot recommend you highly enough. Reply from Allport Dental Practice Tue, 17 Apr 2018 11:00:31 +0100 Thank you for taking the time to review us! I visited the hygienist to-day and was never so humiliated as I was by the way the receptionist
spoke to me. For the first time in my life, I was late by 6 minutes going in the door. The reason being that I couldn't find a parking space. I did leave it to the last minute due to having an urine infection and having to frequent the toilet. The receptionist was busy with another patient, when I arrived, so by the time she was ready to see me I was 10 minutes late for my appointment time. She told me in no uncertain terms that I was 10 minutes late for my 20 minute appointment and wasn't sure if I would be seen. She said she had to speak to the hygienist. She did speak to somebody and returned and said "sit down" I did and after a further 7 minutes a patient came out from the hygienist, which meant, I hadn't wasted anyone time as they were running behind anyway! My treatment from the hygienist lasted 7 minutes in total and there was little to no communication during my visit. And that 7 minutes cost me £38. I would never return there and certainly would not recommend them. Reply from Allport Dental Practice Tue, 17 Apr 2018 11:14:22 +0100 Thank you for taking the the time to leave this review. I am sorry I did not respond straight away but I have been out of the country. I will be contacting you to explain matters further, particularly regarding the hygienist cost & the time needed. It is unfortunate that you were late for your appointment but the hygienist does run to a tight schedule, & sometimes it is necessary to move patients around, especially when patients are late. I have spoken to all of our staff regarding how they deal with patients & can only apologise for the manner in which you were dealt- this is certainly not the "norm" for Allport Dental Surgery.
