Jul 6 2018 I have been with this dentist for approximately 4 years, in which time I have had appointments every 6-9 months. I have had trouble with my wisdom teeth (which are severely impacted and growing horizontally) for almost 2.5 years now. Each time I go for a check up, I complain that my wisdom tooth is very sore and uncomfortable and that it keeps getting infected. I ask to be referred for wisdom tooth removal, and each time I am denied "We will see what its like in 6 months" and this has happened for over 2 years. In total, the tooth has become infected 5 times over the course of 2 years. In each of these 5 occasions, I have rang Plumfield asking for an emergency appointment as I was in a lot of pain and explained that my problem should be in my dental notes. I was denied an appointment each time. I have now been to the emergency dentist at the hospital 3x, and they have thankfully referred me to have my wisdom teeth removed at another dentist, which I have now signed up with. The hospital took one look in my mouth and asked "Why on earth have you not had these taken out? Have you not been referred?" I explained that I had asked to be referred a number of times t no avail....Which is when they did it themselves. Not only is it difficult to get an appointment with this practice, when you do get an appointment you are not involved in your care at all, denied a voice. Furthermore, when I started getting a bit sick of being fobbed off, I started timing my dental appointments, because the dentist wouldn't listen to you and shrugs you off. The total time for an appointment was 3mins. No scale and polish, just a simple 'check what teeth are in your mouth' and you're out. Avoid!!!

Mar 28 2018 I haven't visited a dentist in over 15 years after a really bad experience and I was made an appointment by my partner, who is registered at this dentist. I have had an initial appointment, to check my teeth etc, and 2 further appointments to undertake treatment. I cannot recommend the professional treatment and service I have received and my fear of dentists is well and truly over. I would highly recommend.

Nov 27 2018 I have been a patient of this practice for a few years now and you can really see a difference since it changed ownership. You can tell they have invested a lot into the building and although its been a little noisy and dusty when I've been in you can see that what they are trying to achieve is for the better for patients and staff and that it was in desperate need of someone overhauling the lot! I have been seen by a few different dentists now and each one has been equally as good and professional as the last, I was a little apprehensive when I first realised I wouldn't always see the same dentist but I'm thankful I have access to an NHS dentist and have no problem seeing whoever is available as I know they are all singing off the same hymn sheet. It's refreshing to be a part of a practice that is still independent and caring while trying to give you the best service possible on the NHS, because lets face it it doesn't take a genius to work out it is getting harder and harder for people to offer NHS services and to be fair I would happily stay here privately because they're pretty reasonable and seam to offer a lot from what I've seen advertised in the waiting room.
