Two days ago I rang my doctors on the advice of my midwife because I had come out in a rash 6 days after have a cesarean. Unfortunately the surgery was closed due to staff training, although I was offered an emergency appointment for 40 minutes later. Due to mobility issues I am currently bed bound so was unable to make this appointment. The receptionist explained that as the surgery was closed there was no one available to do a home visit as they were only seeing emergencies, I was not worried about this as I did not believe my rash should be classed as an emergency. Therefore we agreed to book me in for a home visit on the following day. Although shortly later I received a phone call from a doctor who explained that they would really like to see me and seeing as one of their emergency appointments was close to me they were asking if they could come and visit within 10 minutes. As soon as the GP walked in the door I heard them say to my husband that they would of been thinking about it if they didn't come and have a look and they wanted to make sure I was ok. Overall I was really impressed with the level of care I received and believe that both the doctor and surgery went above and beyond for me, which I was very grateful for as I appreciate how busy they can be. |
