I have been with this practice now for approximately ten years and can honestly say that I haven't a bad word to say about any of the people who work here from the doctors to the receptionists who are so friendly and helpful. For someone like me who has a lot of trouble going out alone this makes such a difference to me. Whenever I have needed help or advice all at the surgery have gone out of their way for me. I really appreciate their service. |

Joining the practice some 5 years ago, I was extremely disturbed by the strict adherence to the 10 minute rule. Consultations have been cut short and raising concerns about more than one condition did cause noticeable change in attitude and delivery. There is evidence which greatly colours patient attitude to respect and confidence. These Gp's seem incapable of taking pressure which is detrimental to the care of people with complex medical problems. They tend not to listen and more intent in typing notes into the computer. There is a lack of tack and diplomacy which leaves you feeling put down and not treated with the respect you deserve. It's like going into battle not only with the Gp's but also with some of the office employees. One needs to prepare for the consultation and expect to be cut short, i.e the 10 minute target. I could go on but let it be sufficient to say, levels of confidence and satisfaction are low. Patients are very often, reluctant to complain, fearing reprisals, which fears undermine results of past surveys of satisfaction. I would take the results of surveys, with a "pinch of salt" |
