GP Surgeries are getting a lot of negative comments at the moment so I just wanted to thank the Whalebridge Practice for the great care I have been receiving over the past couple of weeks. From the receptionists that have made my appointments through to the Doctor I have been seeing I am truly greatful. I feel the doctor is being very thorough and trying hard to get to the bottom of my problem. Many thanks to all involved. Keep up the good work. |

I've been going to this surgery for 30years, and I have to say things have improved considerably over the last couple of years. The receptionists are polite and friendly ( they used to be really terrible), although I do object to being asked my DOB and other personal details in front of the whole reception.
The Doctors, especially one are always good, friendly, and listen to what you are saying. It is hard to get an appointment, but they do have an urgent appointment system. I think they do well considering the pressure they are under. They also have nurses with whom you can make and appointment if appropriate.
It would be really good if they could recruit a female doctor though. |

Whilst Whalebridge has improved in some ares (the reception staff are much less rude than they used to be), it is almost impossibe to get an appointment. There is no online bookiing facility, and you have to ring at 10am (over an over again as contantly engaged). By the time you get through, all the appontments are gone, and the best they can tell you is to ring back an do it all again the following day. This is for an appointment in two weeks time, so if you have to try over and over again, it could be much longer. The only alternative is to go to the surgery at 10am, which of course is only possible if you don't work. The repeat prescripton process is very hit and miss, with reception staff mislaying prescriptons they have advised you to come and pick up, and then denying all knowledge of it. Also, the privacy is non existent, staff ask you your DOB in front of the whole reception, and ask you for reasons for your desired apppointment. On the plus side, the doctors are better than they used to be, some more so than others. |
