I can appreciate that the emergency appointments need to be triaged. In my recent experience, I was left feeling that I had annoyed the doctor by explaining my symptoms. They didn’t wish to go into it, again understandable as not after a diagnosis over the phone, however they had requested a description of what my symptoms were. They sounded annoyed and like they couldn’t wait to end the call - in fact they stated that they were extremely ‘pushed for time’ as they had calls ‘stacking up’. The call lasted 4/5 minutes in total, and my appointment is now in 10 days time, leaving me with a rather embarrassing condition, which I will attempt to manage until my appointment date. I can only hope that this Doctor is more receptive to understanding my symptoms and isn’t clock watching. I know that there are a lot of people to see, I would just like to engage with a doctor who shows some sympathy and takes time to explain their reasoning, as I might be struggling to keep up/process what I’m being told. This isn’t my first encounter with a less than savoury ‘bedside manner’. I shall see whether these are one off incidents before going about finding an alternative GP practice, as I know that resources are stretched and patience can be tested. | ||||||

I am happy to see any doctor but usually have to wait two weeks to get a non urgent appointment. This aspect must be improved upon, what will happen when we have many more people in the area because of all the new developments being built? | ||||||

It's no longer possible to book an appointment for the same or day after without a prior assessment by phone, which didn't happen until late the same afternoon. It takes weeks to get a non-urgent appointment and it's extremely difficult to get through on the phone! Once you do, care is very good and Drs are excellent. It just feels like a practice bursting at the seams ... | ||||||
