I recently had to visit my GP for what seemed a trivial matter but which was causing me much discomfort . After speaking to a very helpfful receptionist a nurse practitioner rang me back . She listened to my symptoms and booked me an appointment with my own GP in 36hrs . She was compassionate and caring and I could have had a emergency appointment that day but chose one with my own GP .
On seeing my GP I was examined and was found to need treatment to clear my sinus and nasal congestion up . It was explained that this could not have been cleared by over the counter remedies so it was the right call to see my GP . I also spoke to him about some recent blood tests and he arranged for these to be repeated . A few days later after the tests my own GP rang me back and explained the results to me . What service !!!!
The whole experience was a very positive one from the receptionist ,nurse practitioner, GP and phlebotomist. A brilliant surgery with a service you can trust. We are lucky to have such a great health care facility in Wombourne . Thank you to all involved. Reply from Dale Medical Centre Thu, 09 Aug 2018 11:11:22 +0100 Many thanks for taking the time to give us this very positive feedback. Your comments have been passed onto the team and are very much appreciated by all concerned. We have recently started piloting the Nurse Practitioner screening in an attempt to ensure that the patient experience is improved, so your feedback is very valuable. Whilst we value all feedback, both positive and negative, it is certainly incredibly encouraging to receive such a positive and detailed feedback. So on behalf of the team - very sincere thanks! Needed to consult a GP at short notice. Called the practice and after a couple of ‘number engaged’ tones the receptionist listened to what I needed and advised me that if it was something urgent she would get the nurse practiser to give me a call ‘within the hour’. I received that call within half an hour and after a short discussion with her I was booked in to see my own GP only 25 minutes later! How could you get much better than that! Well done Dale!
