This medical practice literally put my life and well-being at risk in a shameful way and I wonder if they’ve really learnt from their mistakes! I was absolutely appalled with the service from their reception staff when trying to register urgently having had major cancer surgery. I spoke to reception (Rueben) about getting my registration through quicker - I had just left the hospital and urgently needed to get registered so I could get a district nurse to look after me at home. I was treated terribly - told I had to wait 5 days to register whatever the circumstances, to go to A&E if there was a problem - I was treated with no compassion or care about my circumstances. I was sent away demoralised and upset. The hospital desperately tried to intervene on my behalf. A senior cancer consultants secretary rang them, spoke to a different member of staff this time and experienced the same brush off. They followed up with a fax which was simply ignored as had my own note to the doctor ! Absolutely disgusting! This practice needs to look at its processes, people, systems and controls and reform ASAP otherwise someone is going to get hurt. I hope they head my words ! |

My father had vague symptoms.
The doctor said that these suggested either a side effect of medication or a decline in his long term condition. Dr arranged an urgent blood test and reviewed next morning and medication was changed.
I feel that the prompt action prevented hospital admission and enabled Dad to stay at home.
The staff were all helpful and friendly throughout.
This represents NHS General practice at its best despite worsening national resource issues and deserving of outstanding CQC report. Thank you |
