I have attended this practice since I was a child- registered as a baby!-20+ years later still happy with the service here, some of the Drs seem hesitant when you see them to action things, however I have the one doctor I prefer to see and luckily his apts are always available through their patient access app. This doctor always goes out of his way to help me, be it through ringing through to places to expedite things to providing me with further and clearer information-he always follows up on things he says he will and really goes out of his way to explain things properly and help- no rush at all. I would happily wait to be seen if he is running late as I can imagine the time and care he puts into each of his apts and patients. The other Drs can be quite temperamental depending on their mood so it can be a bit hit and miss at times, we saw one GP who was quick to snap back at my husband when he requested an item of medication that he needs to speak to reception - however this was not on his repeats as it was prescribed by the hospital on the back of a surgery he had. She then reluctantly prescribed the item for him, her face pretty much said it all-she did not seem like she wanted to be there. This can be frustrating at times because hospitals refer you to your GP for follow ups but when you are faced with Drs who are quick to snap at you before you finish your sentences it is hard. Whilst we appreciate they have policies in place- it is important to let your patients finish what they are saying before you snap back at them. Patient go to Drs for help - if we knew the answers we wouldn't really be asking questions for no reason-and I think its important for Drs to realise if there were no patients there would be no need for them either. The practice Nurse is quite rude,I have had two instances where I have booked in for something and she has refused me on the day- would have helped if she checked if I was due for something prior to attending and booking time off work- I asked her to use my apt for any other qof I was due for and she huffed and puffed but eventually agreed as I told her I could see her screen and knew I was due-one of the days she refused and just sent me home which wasn't helpful-also very moody. Receptionists cannot help you enough, there are some of them who have been there since I was a child, and some new ones, but they always try and accommodate you as much as they can and they follow through with things. There is a man who works there who needs to work on his people skills-mumbling and grunting is not professional and again he is always quick to end a call or call the next patient in person, he rolls his eyes at you and just isn't very proactive at all which is a shame because the ladies there are absolutely lovely and extremely professional! It is a shame they do not open on weekends as this is something that would really help people who work full time , they do have one weekday they work late but those slots are hard to get. |

Great multidisciplinary team who are flexible and accomodating to individual patient needs. From reception staff, health care assistant, nurses through to the top GP's, all staff are professional and responsive.
I feel fully supported by this practice who clearly take pride and care about the service patients receive.
As a patient here I feel safe and I am grateful that I can access such good healthcare and advice. |

My surgery is fantastic. Every day there is a doctor available to speak with on the phone. When I go for a face to face appointment the receptionists are friendly, they even offer a cup of tea on the rare occasions they are not busy. They do everything to help patients. The GPs are conscientious, competent, friendly and hard-working and I feel really looked after when I need care.
The practice very much demonstrates an open and welcoming philosophy. I work with pregnant women and the majority of them seem to find it difficult to access their GP at short notice. I regularly tell them about the excellent and prompt care that my GP practice offers.
I recently phoned the surgery about a strange episode with my eye. After speaking with the doctor I was offered an emergency appointment immediately. I was seen before lunch and given a thorough checkup to exclude a TIA. Then I was referred to the Eye hospital for further investigation that day. They too were impressed with how thorough and efficient my GP was
The following week I was waiting to see the nurse for some blood tests. My GP saw me and came over to ask how I'd got on at the hospital, this really meant a lot to me as I know how many patients they see every day
I've been with the practice for about 25 years and would think twice about moving house and out of the area!. |
