It’s not a bad surgery but they are very short staffed reception wise. I’ve been on a lot recently with my child and they always seem to have only two people manning reception, and a lot of the time only one. It’s bad because from a patient perspective people tryso hard to get through on their phones and when there is only 2 people working there then what chance to patients have of booking an on the day appointment? One person on the phones and one person at the front desk. Surely from a managerial view there should be at least 4 people working on reception. I came in today for my child’s appointment and the doctor I saw was lovely I’ve seen them several times before for myself and my son. However, this dr in particular runs ridiculously late, every time, all the time. And I don’t just mean 20 minutes or so I mean an hour and an hour a half. Another patient was very angry today at waiting this long and they were very aggressive and made me feel very uncomfortable when they moaned to reception staff about the wait, i don’t think the staff handled them well because it scared me at how irate they got and the patient should have been told off.
More often than not though the reception people are nice but they don’t seem to work that hard, I’ve heard them chuckling around the building when I’ve been walking to my doctors room various times. Today however was a different story. The receptionist working at the front was ok and pleasant enough but she must have heard my husband mention to me that we’ve been waiting for ages and not been calling in yet because she gave me a very nasty look. Also the receptionist sat the back was extremely irritable and he constantly snapped at and berated the other receptionist at the front and myself and my husband could very clearly hear him speaking very unfavourably and mockingly about other patients i do understand the job can be testing at times but this is very unprofessional. On a whole I don’t think it’s a bad surgery they just need to really address the lateness of this particular GP as it happens every session they have and it’s very annoying and frustrating especially when you have an unwell child, and they also need to address the lack of staff on reception especially in the morning as it’s rush hours.
I think the pharmacy is fantastic and they’re very efficient with their stock and ordering.
Thank you. |

I have been with the surgery for many years and have always received the best service and experience. I have recently had surgery and unable to leave the house, when I have called the practice, they have been able to arrange district nurse visits, kept me informed all the way through and have been very supportive with appointments and medication review ensuring the aftercare support is in place to help my recovery
I would like to thank the reception staff, the Dr and practice managers for their support, time, professionalism and their main focus of patient care |
