WHY has this surgery got a rating this high?! I suspect some of the reviews are "embellished".
I am now in the process of changing my medical centre, due to these reasons. Numerous times I have had to wait for absurd amounts of time in the waiting room for my appointment, usually waiting for a Dr. who swans in late himself. The record being 70 minutes, even though I was early for the appointment. A woman at the same time with two small children had been waiting for 50 minutes.
Another time I was told by a Dr, that my bp was unusually high. This worried me greatly, but I was told by three separate professionals that it was not unusually high.
I am being asked by the DWP to provide a "fit note", to prove that I have amongst other things, flat feet. The Dr wanted to charge me £25 for this, and wasnt swayed by the fact that I am on Universal credit.
The last straw was being refused a prescription for a skin complaint. No reason was given whatsoever.I have followed the instructions and not used too much of the medication. I have had to suffer a weekend with terrible itching, then be told there are no more telephone appointments because I didnt phone this morning. Also as I cannot attend a appointment tomorrow I will have to wait and suffer until the weekend or later to find out if I,ll be given this treatment. No sympathy was offered, that I have been suffering. The implication was that I am partly responsible because I cant keep the appointment tomorrow. A simple email to the doctor and then contact with me would be a easy solution.( Do NOT join this surgery.) Reply from WALTON VILLAGE MEDICAL CENTRE Tue, 20 Mar 2018 09:57:05 Z Hi Paul I am sorry you have felt the need to score our practice such a low rating. I would like to address some of the issues you have raised: Firstly I can assure you that the practice has no sway in patients feedback through this site, NHS choices is a platform used by patients to give their honest and true ratings - just as you have done. I have audited your appointments as far back as November 2017, since this date you have booked 5 appointments at the practice; You failed to attend 2 of these appointments You waited on average 3 mins before you were called into the consultation room on 2 of the appointments You arrived 10 mins early for one of your appointments and were called in 30 mins past your appointment time, I do appreciate that this is an excessive waiting time and the practice is working hard to ensure all patients are seen promptly. I have investigated your claim of £25 charge for a DWP letter, you requested a GP confirm your identity via photograph and form, this carries a non NHS charge of £20 which you were advised by the GP during consultation. I can confirm this practice does not charge patients for Med 3. With regards to the skin medication you requested, this medication is not routinely given to patients on repeat and would require a patient to be reviewed by a clinician should they require it on a regular basis. Should you wish to discuss any of your issues with me, please do not hesitate to contact me at the practice. Donna M Jennings Practice Manager Walton Village Medical Centre |

I have worked all over the U.K for years and am having to visit my G.P's lately on e regular basis due to illness recently
My Doctor and their two assistant doctors have been professional, compassionate and considerate caring beyond their call of duty - a credit to the NHS during my time being unwell.
The admin gem are always helpful and find me appointments where are convenient and available , thank you all a million times x a practice that is part of the community |
