    Changed from wheatbridge to old whittington because i thought it makes sense to have drs closer especially since i have mental health issues, makes it easier. How wrong was i. Ive been with old whitt for 3 months and still struggle to get an app, i dont see point in why they are open as they only do half days. And closed most time. Wish id stayed with wheatbridge now. Even online service doesnt have app available, 3 wks now ive checked and no apps on it. I need a reliable service and drs so i can keep on top of my mental health staying stable. I need my medication looking at, tried ringing today at 8 30am what a surprise no appointments left. Waste space.

    I’m sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service you have received from Chesterfield Medical Partnership. We take all complaints and comments seriously, and we are always striving to improve our services. We appreciate how frustrating it can be when you are struggling to secure an appointment, especially when you are feeling unwell, but there are a number of factors which place extremely high demands on our staff and limit the number of appointments we can offer. The shortage of trained GPs is a national problem and is causing a shortfall of appointments across the NHS. The partnership is actively recruiting new GPs, and we have been investigating alternative methods of increasing patient access to appointments. We have restructured our appointment schedule to increase the number of pre-bookable and on-the-day appointments, and we have recently implemented a sit-and-wait service for same day appointments (however, to maintain safe staffing levels this service is only available at our Ashgate Road site for the time being) We also encourage our patients to help alleviate the demand for GP appointments by taking advantage of one of our three highly trained Nurse Practitioners or our Consulting Paramedic, all of whom are able to help with a wide range of acute problems. We also employ a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist who is able to deal with medication issues and offers medication reviews. Despite the high demand for appointments, the safety of our patients remains paramount. The practice offers an On-Call GP telephone triage service for problems which need attention that same day, and we will always ensure that any of our patients in need of urgent care are able to speak to a GP.     You always have to drive to ashgate to get an appointment....the staff are polite but there isn't enough for the patients...sometimes you even have to drive to holme hall....which was what my wife was recommended when she had an eye problem and couldn't drive...no idea how you actually get an appointment at Whittington...haven't been offered one there for years...receptionists are good but service offered is really poor

    Had a really awful telephone conversation when trying to get a repeat medication ,the receptionist explained that if the medication wasn’t in an emergency list they could not put me on the oncall list . The receptionist seemed happy in stating “unfortunately the medication isn’t on the list “,I explained I had a young son who I had to get to nursery and was struggling just with this task as was struggling to see .....I wish the receptionists would bear in mind that sometimes things aren’t as simple as coming to the surgery (as I don’t drive,also it would be unsafe ), I don’t have anyone to support me or assist when I’m ill ,try thinking about yourself in that situation and actually listen to the patient ....Ps this medication I needed has previously been put on the oncall list so maybe a communication teaching session is needed as well compassion !!!!!!
