I would not recommend this surgery. I've been left without a supply of my medication five times in six years. This is a repeat medication that I need, and without which I feel very unwell. The prescriptions team at the surgery know this, as does my GP. The reasons I've been given for these gaps in my medication supply include: a prescription team member's 'bad maths'; my address; and a move to a bizarre online ordering system about which I received no notification. I've been told by a private practitioner that this medication should be reviewed once every six months. There has been a review once in six years, by the prescription team. 'Are you happy with your medication?' they asked. 'It depends if you're willing to dispense it,' I responded. |

I moved to this GP service from another one as it is nearer where I live and neighbors had recommended it. So far I have been satisfied with obtaining appointments, GP quality, and the receptionists. It is in fact an improvement on what I had been used to in the previous practice I attended. |

After 36 years at this practice, I am registering elsewhere. I have nothing but problems in recent months - I once had to redial 69 times to get through for an appointment and when I did I was met with a rude and unfriendly receptionist who seemed to think she had a medical degree and could decide over the phone that I didn't need an appointment immediately. This morning I rang for appointments for my two sons - took 25 times to get through and was 15th in the queue - and book appointments for 9:40 and 9:50. I got my kids dressed and drove down there, paid for parking and tried to book in. After 15 minutes, an apologetic receptionist informed me that they had given my appointments away to someone else and I had to come back in the afternoon. Now if this was just me it wouldn't be a problem, but it's for my kids and it's the summer holidays, so I have to drag them out again and pay for parking again. My entire family have been registered at this practice for many years - me my whole life - and in recent years it has stopped being a family practice and is now just a numbers game. You never see the same doctors twice, the main doctors are all part-time so it's largely staged by inexperienced trainees and they just want you in and out the door as quick as possible. My advice is to go elsewhere. They don't deserve my patronage. |
