Had a serious problem with a prescription, but one phone call and 30 minutes later it was resolved. Thanks!

I have tried to speak to practice manger regarding my concerns and have been advised a ‘patient friend’ would call me back, 3 weeks later and still no call so have decided to write review.
I honestly do not know how this GP surgery is allowed to stay open as It is IMPOSSIBLE to get even get a call back never mind see a actual DR. I could go on & on & on about bad experiences I have had but it all boils down to the fact I think you have far too many patients and not enough DRs.
Call at 8am - no appointments , go to walk in is all you are ever told. This is why walk ins are so busy due to poor service from practices like this.
Please start listening to your patients!!we just want to be seen instead of jumping through 1000 hoops to see our GP. I don’t feel you are providing the basic services to your patients at all. Reply from Beacon Railway Road Practice Wed, 30 Jan 2019 16:12:10 Z Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment unfortunately I do not have your details due to this being an anonymous review so I am unable to investigate this any further, please could I ask that you call the surgery on 01695 736000 and ask for our patient friend who will look into this and refer onto the Practice Manager if need be. Kind regards Jenni |

Having a policy that in order to speak to a doctor you must call from 8.00am to 8.30am and on many occasions I have began calling from 8.00am and sat in the telephone queuing until after 8.30am only to be told I am too late and must call the following day. Receptionists being unsympathetic and unhelpful, not taking into account that you may be feeling your very worse. Alternatively you can call after 8.30am and be told you will receive a call back the following week!. By which time you are likely to be either better or more likely a lot worse and on receiving the long awaited call back you then have a further wait to actually receive your appointment. I have recently spent a whole night with no sleep due to chronic throat pain and on calling at 8.00am and asked by the receptionist is my contact number my land line.. my reply was “yes the one I’m calling from” only to find out two hours later, the doctor had called a different number and I was now too late for a call back and would have to try again the following day.. Overall it is a very unprofessional and uncaring way of treating people who are feeling ill and not at their best... Also when this very poor service is given and the only alternative offered is for you to make your way to the nearest walk in centre which is four miles away and your only transport is to wait for a bus when you already feel that you are too weak to get up from the settee, just adds to your stress and dissatisfaction with Beacon Primary Care |
