On more than one occasion I have been let down by both the Doctors and the receptionists at this surgery. The first occasion I was promised by the practice manager at the time that a Doctor would call me that day. I didn't get a call. When I phoned the surgery back they advised that Doctors don't call patients (despite the fact that I had received this service before and have done since). The second instance was regarding results. I made an appointment to see the Doctor 8 days after a scan at the local hospital. I called the surgery early afternoon on the day of my appointment to check my results had been received. They hadn't. The receptionist advised that they would contact the hospital and ask them to send them over before my appointment later that day. Having left work early I arrived and when I asked the receptionist whether my results had been sent, they simply replied with 'I don't know'. They did know that the end of their shift was near and seemed completely uninterested in why I was asking. I explained that my appointment was for my results. They looked at me with a blank face and motioned for me to sit in the waiting area. I had to explain that there is no point me sitting in the waiting area for an appointment if the doctor has not got my scan results. I did explain that I am pregnant so it's important that nothing is wrong, but this fell on deaf ears as well. Thankfully they asked someone else who seemed to have more understanding of what I was asking. I have asked that they phone me once my results are in so that I can see the Dr. We'll see. The female Doctor is lovely, although they don't list that they have a female Doctor on their NHS page, so I assume this must be a secret. Either that, or they fail to update their page with the correct information. The other Doctor isn't understanding, and if you have a sore back, gives advice such as 'check the wooden slats under your bed'. It's almost as if you have to convince the Doctor that you are there for medical reasons. All in all, the negative experiences far outweigh the positive and in no way would I recommend this surgery. |

I have always been able to see my doctor on the day requested. My doctor is a very caring doctor, very sympathetic and thoughtful and so easy to talk to, and has been so patient with me over the last year or so. I couldn't wish for a nicer doctor. |
