I recently visited the surgery for a routine appointment with Dr S Masood and I was so impressed with the experience that I feel compelled to comment. She went above and beyond. She made me feel at ease and took time to listen to me, I didn't feel rushed or like I was making a fuss, but she was so approachable and efficient. I was even given the follow up appointment before I left the room. All in all I felt like I was in very capable hands and had been listened to and that's why I wanted to comment. |

The Surgery is now run as a business and patient care is sadly lacking. Reception staff have a default of no rather than trying to help- a shrug or ‘don’t know ‘ seems to be an ok answer. I have stood in a queue waiting for the sole receptionist whilst 2 sat in the back chatting to a doctor. I’m sure that are on phone duty but that was not what they were doing. I wasn’t the only there for 20 minutes who commented about the lack of staff. Trying to to get an appointment is almost impossible. I don’t mind waiting for a routine appointment but even getting an acute one is difficult. I have been told the duty doctor was busy doing admin work and couldn’t see my child with an ear infection. The information is not passed on or triaged by a clinician- the receptionist decided and couldn’t be budged. Please Kirkburton remember that patients ARE your business. |

To start with iv previously had trouble getting appointments for a repeat prescription for my inhalers due to my asthma, I get told to ring back the next say but anyone who is an asthmatic knows how dangerous it can be woth out one. Since Friday I have been trying to get an appoint regarding my skin as if had a reaction but of course it's Monday and still no luck iv been told to keep ringing everyday. The lady on the phone told me to go to the chemist next door but as it's my face they couldn't do anything it has to be a gp. When explaining to the receptionist I got the same cold reply"ring at 8am tomorrow" but after 5 min let me fill a form out and the creams will be apparently ready today. Why do people have to make a fuss in the first place when it is possible? |
