Outstanding surgery and staff, reception and dispensary staff very friendly and will do all they can to help patients. I’ve been a patient on their books for 25 years plus and have always found them a pleasure to deal with. The Doctors are a credit, especially Dr Yarwood and Karkar, your always greeted with a smile and come away knowing you have been listened too. Patience is important, we all want attention and want it now, yes you may wait a while to get through on the phone but everyone else ringing at that time feels the same.

I like each time to see the man I regard as ‘my’ GP, and I usually can. However, I’ve also been very effectively helped by other doctors and nurses, sometimes over in Aberford. I have never once felt let down or not taken seriously. Often the actual consultations are good humoured; you feel a decent rapport. Here are people with high degrees of knowledge and expertise, and over about four years I’ve had to have treatment for two serious conditions, but I’ve always felt supported by the Elmwood people even though the treatments have had to be hospital based.Other conditions have been treated by these local doctors and invariably with good result. I need to add that I aim to bother my GP as little and as infrequently as I possibly can. Ancillary services such as flu jabs, blood samples and repeat prescriptions are always dealt with quickly and efficiently and ALL the staff at any of the three surgeries of the Garforth practice have been polite and helpful at all times.
