Recently, I had to attend several emergecy appointments at the surgery and today a young lady showed such kindness towards me.I came at a busy time and she listened and made sure that I was able to see my preferred GP. I was happy to wait and one of the receptionist even offered me a glass of water to make me more comfortable. The receptionist, very kindly rang the GP and gave me an approximate time before I was seen . While I was waiting it was good to see cheerful staff as it makes me feel better.The GP who I normally see has been very understanding towards me and makes sure that I am happy with treatment and she makes time to explain her diagnose in clear well chosen words .she also, makes sure that I am happy with the follow up treatment and reminds me to contact the sugery if my symptoms becomes worse .Over the years , my experience of having being treated by many healthcare staff at this surgery is to say thank you , with appreciation for the continues care, from the receptionist, nurses and to the doctors. | ||||||

firstly, why do the doctors receptionists feel the need to diagnose the patient before seeing the doctor, asking personal questions about the problem which should just be in strict patient doctor confidentiality.
a patient is visiting a doctor because they are not feeling well and the receptionists should have more empathy
also, every time i ring up for an appointment there is nothing available for weeks - to a month. i can never see the doctor who i want to see, instead i am left with a locum doctor who was also rude to me, talking down to me as if i am not aware of my own surrounds. her inpatient attitude and unwillingness to listen or help to the things that i was saying, is quit disgraceful that she is even a doctor. | ||||||

I cannot praise Downing Drive Surgery highly enough. The receptionists and practice manager are polite, efficient and if they say they will do something you know you can rely on them that they will do it and keep you updated if necessary. Nothing seems too much trouble. The doctors, in particular Dr Ball have always been kind and professional.The practice nurses are also delightful and put you at ease. | ||||||
