My amazing Doctor is Dr McCall she has help me so very much, I really don’t know what I would do without her. She help me with not just my mental health issues, but my fibromyalgia. She really is the best she understands and that’s not something other doctors can do. So thank you Dr McCall and the health centre. X |

I phoned the surgery at 8am and a doctor phoned me at 8.25am. Excellent service as usual from reception and doctors. |

I rarely need to use GP services but when struggling with my mental health I decided to approach the practice for support. My initial contact with the receptionist by telephone wasn’t great. Having experienced an emotional breakdown I rang the practice at 8am Monday to request a Drs appointment that week (at any time) to be told there were none as it’s a very big and busy practice and I should go online to book. The next online appointment was over 2 weeks away. When I explained why I needed to be seen that week I was then told I could be put on the triage list however “it shouldn’t really be used for those things and I should of booked online in advance” (like I can plan when I was going to have a mental breakdown and would be in a mentally fit state to seek early help). Luckily I went back online and managed to secure a cancellation with a Dr for that week. The Dr that I saw was fantastic, extremely supportive and really helped me to get back on track. So the care I received was great but think reception attitude and approach to patients could be improved. I understand all practices are busy but to be made to feel a nuisance particularly when in a vulnerable mental state was not very caring and without any other options given. |
