I have to echo the comments of the previous reviewer. From our experience some individual carers are excellent and go over and above what is expected of them to deliver good care to my father.
The key issues are related to poor overall management including the training and supervision of carers.
There have been a number of occasions where carers have just not turned up, when reported back to the office you get the same response "we are busy" or "someone has gone sick" or they turn up late at totally unacceptable times, 10 pm at night!, when my father has gone to bed .
Other issues include poor medicines management, medications not given, the wrong medications given, medications given at the wrong times.
Since we were forced to change care agency to Bloomsbury I have seen my father go from a cheerful, happy and relaxed gentleman to someone who is anxious and becoming increasingly depressed. |

Bloomsbury were assigned to us by the NHS for my mother eighteen months ago. She is now 92. She had fallen and broken her arm, and still has limited mobility
No complaints about the individual carers, but they do have a high turnover rate. No sooner do we get used to a carer, they seem to leave.
There are far too many missed or late visits.
One of the Supervisors asked my mother a questionnaire. I complained that they should have spoken to me, and was told no, because she was the client. At 92 she will agree to anything, so no complaints from her. |
