You are probably reading this review as you research companies who are able to provide care, help and assistance for a family member who has become ill, vulnerable or requires support with their everyday living. As such trust, reliability and flexibility will no doubt be high on your list of requirements. If you proceed with Grayson’s please beware. The company will require the client to enter into a contract. Ensure that you insist that you are present when this is signed. Grayson’s appear to believe that it is acceptable for a 94 year old widow who is registered blind, to sign the said document, without next of kin or friend present. Grayson’s require 4 weeks notice to cancel this contract. Unfortunately following a fall, this same lady had to undergo a major operation and hospitalisation. Grayson’s were kept appraised of this throughout. Upon her discharge from hospital she unfortunately had to go into residential care. Grayson’s were again updated but they believe that it is acceptable to expect this lady to provide the said 4 weeks notice, irrespective of the fact that she had just been discharged from hospital, that she was on high doses of pain relief medication and that she was now confined to her Care home accommodation under Covid quarantine. Surely this cannot be a reasonable expectation. If you do engage Grayson’s to provide your required services, please ensure that you check that they are adhering to the agreed Care plan. In a six week period involving 105 visits by the Care team, I identified that almost 50% of the visits did not comply with the Care plan. I hope that this review assists you in your search. It is so important that we are able to protect the vulnerable at this important stage of their life. Please be aware and beware.
