I was admitted for a hip Aspiration and Biopsy under the care of the Orthopaedic Consultant at 7.30 am today and have found the whole experience to be totally superb! To say I was apprehensive about the procedure is an understatement and every participant on the team did everything to instill confidence in me. I was treated with total empathy and care and left the hospital feeling well recovered and satisfied with every aspect of the time which I spent there. If I could, I would award the Day Surgery Centre at least 10*! At a time when the NHS is criticised and almost castigated in the media, I must air my grateful and most sincere appreciation for all that the NHS does. Thank you so much, Regards Janet Walton

Can some one arrange to enforce the No Smoking rule. My daughter and grand daughter who was a patient today who has heart problems had to push a path through a cloud of filthy cigarette smoke and smokers who were sheltering at the main reception doors

Comfort room for “Patients only”, on the ward. We needed a break from the room so decided to sit in there for a while. Whilst in there 6 staff (cleaners I think) decided to eat in there which we didn’t mind, but when one of the decided it was ok to vape we got up and left. Outside the entrance to maternity is where people decide to smoke. All day every day. Not once did I see a person challenged. The room was dirty with blood on the curtain and shower curtain. The tv looked like it had never been cleaned and was filthy. Windows filthy. Apart from one midwife, everything seemed like hassle to them. It’s the little things that reassure people and this experience was pretty bad by any standard. I really recommend one of the management team having a close look at drifting standards.
