I had terrible toothache / Abscess, ( Scared stiff of Dentists hence my teeth being the way they were). Went to emergency surgery, was seen within an hour, tooth drained and temp filled as I was going away. Asked to make an appointment and if I minded Students performing it as it would be quicker to get an appointment. I agreed as I wanted it out and I was very scared of dentists and wanted it over with asap. I arrived at 9am and was out by 10 feeling great. The lady who performed it was so good she made me feel so relaxed and calm, the chap who gave me the needles didnt hurt me at all. I hope you will be able to forward this to them and I wish them well. And a big thank you

In my experience professionalism and patient enagament did not exist within the Resoritive Dental Department. These are just a few of the issues I experienced. 1. Only two dental nurses so in my treatment of over one hour had to hold my own suction tube and tissues to absorb the blood and water coming from my mouth. 2. I was not fully informed about treatment so I could not make an informed decision about my care. I later found out the choice I was encourged to make was easier for the dentist and more painful for me (a member of staff actually told me this! ! ). 3. The treatment plan agreed by one member of staff and the consultant at my initial appointment was questioned by another consultant at my third appointment. 4. Photographs were taken of my mouth, which I did not mind, but I should have been asked for my consent and advised what the photographs were going to be used for. 5. I was given anesthetic and sat there for 30 minutes before my treatment commenced, towards the end of my treatment the anesthetic was no longer working so I had to be given additional injections. I felt like I was just a patient to be practiced on.I could go on but the these are most salient points I wanted to raise.

I am extremely disappointed in how Ive been treated by the staff.I have an impacted wisdom tooth which is broken and beyond decayed and is causing me pain.Had to spend Christmas at MRI because I developed an abcess due to infection.I was off work for a week because of this.I was given a surgery appointment for March 2017. I tried to get an earlier date and was told there were no appointments,was told to keep ringing up until they find cancellation.Today, I rang up at 9 am and asked if they had one, fortunately, they did.They told me to wait for 30 minutes and theyd call me to to make the new appointment,,they didnt.Instead, they called me at 2pm , and told me that the appointment date had now been taken by another patient whilst they were trying to book me in.They said the patient was on priority list(originally, they told me that they had no such thing as a waiting list) They also had told me earlier that cancellation s are on a first come first serve basis.I am now at risk of another infection and could potentially loose my job for being off sick.What a shocking service!
