My husband had a stroke and was struggling afterwards. He had a CPN assessment at home and saw a psychiatrist at West park for the diagnosis. He told us in a very brief contact with limited explanation it was vascular dementia. Since then we have just been left for months...there is no care plan, no ongoing support or advice. We dont even have a date to return for a review. They wrote to the GP but thats it...I am not sure what I expected but not to be just abandoned to look after him alone. This is not the NHS we clapped for.

My mother was given an appointment to see the psychiatrist regarding test results. Unfortunately the consultant was on sick leave and we did not get the message the appointment had been changed. The staff were very helpful and after half an hour wait we saw a doctor, this saved us attending another appointment and delaying the diagnosis. I would like to thank the staff for their prompt action and helpfulness, and the doctor who did the consultation, much appreciated.
