I would like to praise the super nhs service my elderly mother received today. We attended the gp for a persistent tickly cough and after examination were asked to attend the drop in chest X-ray clinic at Fairfield. We went this afternoon, waited only 10 mins to be seen and hope to receive results in 10 days or so. This is a really efficient system. It made things so much easier for our family than the usual appointment service. Thankyou! |

I came to A and E and was triaged quickly to the Urgent Care Centre. Waiting time was relatively quick. What I was disappointed with was the care I received. The nurse who assessed me was highly dismissive and generally uninterested in the whole picture. He did not provide patient centred care and seemed made me feel like I had wasted his and the time of the service. He then asked me to come back in to the treatment room to advise me that I had been given an urgent appointment with ENT, but i dont meet the criteria so he didnt know why i had been given one. Overall staff and service were great but unfortunately the nurse providing my care, or lack of, has let the organisation down. He needs to work on his communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. He needs to work on his rapport building skills and making patients feel comfortable and listened to. He had zero empathy. |
