Sep 21 2023 My daughter was admitted to A&E with suspected appendicitis. We received exceptional care from everyone we saw - reception, nurses, health care assistants, doctors - everyone. In the waiting area, we were surrounded by the most mannerless, ungrateful time wasters and all staff remained professional and caring at all times. I do not know how they all do it. My daughter had her head on my knee, crying in pain and vomiting, and some parents were allowing their sick children to run wild. I honestly think that these people use the NHS as social support so they dont have to parent alone. My daughter was eventually admitted and following an ultrasound and blood test, she was quickly prepped for surgery. Not only was my daughter cared for to a very high standard, they cared for me too which I did not expect. I cannot commend the staff at ROH enough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Aug 24 2023 Consultant and nurses are great in the way they treat patients. The receptionist lets the department down.

Aug 12 2023 So I was told to go to A&E on Tuesday for my shoulder as I was in loads of pain when I got there I was nearly crying in pain I seen the nurse and them wanted bloods off me didn’t tell me this was happing so I went into another room to let them take my blood I said to the nurse I can only use children’s needles as my veins move and I am scared of needles she didn’t listen to me and used a big needle then she messed up 3 times before asking someone else to do it so at this point I am freaking out as I really don’t like needles I asked for some pain medicine at 12:45 and didn’t get any till 6:30am every time I asked I was told 2 minutes but it went on for hours I was in the A&E for 9+ hours in the end before I was sent for an Xray on my shoulder in the mean time I was in loads of pain tired as I had to sit on the floor as there was no chairs for people to sit on and staff was to busy laughing at people and not giving painkillers when needed
