I witnessed a small number of highly capable and trained nursing staff unsupported by the management at ward level. Particularly during the night shift, there appeared to be only properly trained nurse on duty, running herself ragged trying to cope with everything, whilst more junior nurses stood around and watched. The food was absolutely awful. In every case it was over cooked and lacking in quality. I rarely got anything that I ordered. This is not in any way a criticism of the “front line” troops, but they are unsupported by management.
