I bought two pair of varifocal glasses. I was offered a deal, still not sure what that was but was given an overall price for them which I excepted The very personable assistant offered me a pair of reading glasses for nothing. Not sure why, went to pick the glasses up and was given two pairs, not both were varifocal. I was told I could have a second pair of varifocal for an extra £ 40 or without the uv coating. It was their very helpful optician that told me that I needed those type of glasses, so why would I want them without UV protection ? I never asked for the reading glasses so there should not have been an issue about them. In the end Tesco waived further costs but wasn't prepared to give me the reading glasses. I paid £20 for them as I was getting fed up with the whole thing. If there was a mistake made it wasn't by me. I have found the Tesco brand rather frustrating of late, this is not the first run in that I have had with the optical department.
To give the manager their due, they have done their best to sort out the problem but there is a massive fault with their administration. I was supposed to be satisfied but to be quite honest, I couldn't feel this way. |

I turned up in time for my appointment and was seen immediately and given thorough eye test and advised as to suitability for Varifocals. Six days later received phone call to say specs were ready. Collected glasses and frames were adjusted to properly fit. At all times I found the staff friendly and helpful. As for the varifocals I have 60 days to see how I get on with them and have the option either to keep them or change to standard lenses.I am very happy with the service I received and would have no hesitation about recommending |

Having suffered eye truma some years ago I take my eye care very seriously. Having visited a number of options over the years I have to say, the service I received at the Gallows corner store was nothing less then outstanding.
Ease of making an appointment for one, two the level of care taken by the optician with the eye test. I didn't once feel rushed as I have done in other tests before, and no awkward questions about my eye injury.
To top it off, the Manager at the store was understanding to my requirements and extremely informative to what I could do with regards to my spectacles and lens choice.
Once completed, I received a text message explaining my spectacles are ready for collection. When going down to the store I was greeted by a member of staff and asked to take a seat. The manager came over with my purchase and give me the best possible service in fitting and explaining what to watch out for should I need them fitting again once I've been wearing them for a while.
I must point out this type of service is hard to find these days and even though I had to wait up too, two weeks for them to be made the service recivied is well worth the wait. |
