Mr Lim takes time to ensure that you get the best possible diagnosis and prescription, unlike the optician chains, which rush you through and give you lenses that are never quite right. He is also extremely knowledgeable, and is able to explain things in a clear way that is beyond the ability of the kids that are employed in the large chains, well-meaning though they may be. He is one of the last of the 'old school' optometrists, who are passionate about their work and really care about the quality of care they give their clients. |

CHARGED £90 FOR A £30 EYE TEST! This review is for the shop assistants, not for the optometrist. I went here recently with a partner as part of a double booking (one after the other). We had booked over the phone for standard eye tests. We both went in for the same amount of time, but when we came out the bill for myself was £30, and the bill for my partner was £90! We had the same treatment and same slot of time. When I asked about this, they said it was because my partner had contacts in at the time who the optician had asked to take a look at. This had added £60 to the bill. We were not asked if we wanted an extra service or informed of the extra cost at the time, simply assuming this to be part of the eye test. Had we known this info, we certainly would have politely declined and carried on with the standard test we had booked. Seems outrageous someone could be charged £90 from £30 without clearing it first. My partner paid for this as she is too polite to have contested it more than we did. Separately but on top of this, the shop staff also refused to give us our 'pupillary distance' reading which is used to buy frames online. I prefer to buy my glasses online where there is a wider selection and less time pressure as apposed to choosing a new frame in store. All of this soured what was otherwise a very good eye-test. |

My Lim is brilliant and once you try him you won't want to go to specsavers or anywhere else. He has real knowledge and understanding of the eye and makes you feel really interested in what he does as he explains everything so well. He makes you realise how much you need to feel cared for by an optician. I like the staff as well, friendly and it feels old fashioned but in the best possible sense of the word. Best optician in London and possibly in the UK too. Honestly, try it out. |
