Walked in, requested and got an immediate eye test which was excellent service. However, as I or they did not know my previous prescription i was not in a position to purchase another pair of glasses just like that as it may have only been a slight difference from the specs I had already..
I was then directed to a chair where I was given the full sales pitch even though I insisted that I would not be purchasing specs on that day.
As I got up to leave fully expecting to receive my rightful prescription paperwork I was told that it would be kept by them until I was ready to purchase my glasses from them.,
As there is n o other option but to go to an opticians shop for an eye test, there should be no pressure from them to purchase from them until you are ready and had a good look around.
The salesperson was over the top with the full support of the manager who only said I was entitled to take my prescription once it was pointed out by me.
Maybe i would in time have returned to Southport and bought my glasses but unfortunately, due to undue pressure I will not be returning to their shop in Southport. |

I've been using David H Myers for 14 years now ever since I needed my first pair of glasses. The service has always been great. It's nice to go into the shop and the staff know who you are and are always helpful and friendly. You get to know them and they get to know you. It's always a pleasure to visit. |
