Appointment was at 2:40 at the watford store and was running late but they phoned to see if there were issues which was nice. Entered store at 2:50 and the staff were excellent and knew about the issue. I got seen roughly 20mins whilst waiting and I have to admit, they were professional and very nice. They knew what they were doing and I trusted them. My eye sight and health is excellent according to them which is true. Overall I am very happy. I even observed another customer looking for some glasses and the fact that the staff gave opinions and we're not forcing the customer to purchase them was extremely good. Very impressed and definitely recommend. |

I visited the Watford Branch of Tesco Opticians to have an eye test. I was delighted to be able to get an eye test the same day. I duly received my prescription and ordered my glasses, which arrived the next day. I was so happy with the speed of the service that I ordered another pair of spare glasses. From then it totally downhill.
I could not read or see my computer with the glasses. I persevered for a week but to no avail and suffered from headaches and strained eyes all week. On collection of the second pair of glasses I mentioned this problem and the assistant made me an appointment for a recheck test.
This was now my 3rd visit. I had my eye test and it was confirmed that the original prescription was indeed very wrong and in fact I did not need prescription glasses at all just ones off the shelf, which I already had.
I asked for a refund and the assistant said that they would have to speak with the manager who would call me the next morning to discuss the refund and the inconvenience that I had incurred (3 visits and having to leave work early to get the last appointment). They also kept both pair of glasses even though I had paid for them to avoid any more wasted journies and that the manager would refund me over the phone.
So today I waited for a call nothing up until 1.30pm and I decided to phone them. The manager said that they had been too busy to phone me and that they could not do a refund over the phone and that I would have to come to the store (4th visit). I asked them would they compensate me for my time and petrol as this was their error and they said that they would have to speak to a higher authority regarding this and would call me back at some point.
I now have to go to Tesco Opticians again tonight to get a refund on glasses that I did not need!!
I feel very angry as I feel that Tesco Opticians have handled this complaint very badly after all I am the one who was given the wrong prescription. |

Tesco in watford have had a refurbishment and the opticians has been updated
I had a contact lense appointment and now they have refused me my presepiction as they do no want me to go else where even thought I have paid for my eye test and the prescription
The service is appalling and I would never ever advise someone to ever get anything from this company! |
