Honestly it’s a dreadful experience, half the products are out of stock, aisles are inaccessible or often blocked by unmanned packing trolleys, long queues at the till, poor lighting, perfume locked away, no make up testers. Give this one a miss. |

Glasses paid for an ordered before lockdown on March 17th 2020 have not been delivered and no communication sent. The appointed courier knows nothing either.A reply from customer care about the whereabouts would be useful Boots Opticians Chiswick High Road. |

Awful. The optician I saw in 2011 was young and inexperienced. They failed to understand my contact lens needs and did not recommend the best solution for me. This was recognised and accepted by them, but the fix they proposed did not work out, so neither pair of lenses were any good for me, and I had to return them for a refund (within the trial period) and go elsewhere.
The front of house staff made an error on my glasses order, which I noticed 45 minutes later. But rather than amend the order - the systems they have meant they couldn't phone through or amend a change on the computer system as too much time had elapsed (they take ages to answer the phone so it was more than 60 minutes). Instead they said they would order different lenses separately and fit them into frames themselves. This damaged the frame, caused me headaches, and led to them having to order full replacement frame.
The whole experience meant loads and loads of visit and took up loads of my time and cost me in parking. I have the impression they have no imediate plans to invest in the people at this branch.
The only good things I can say is you get a 3 month trial period on hard contact lenses, and your money back if they dont work out. I did get a free pair of prescription sunglasses as the frames I wanted were in a 2 for 1 deal. When there was a problem they tried to fix it. The staff at Richmond branch of Boots were more professional.
I have now gone back to my old independent optician who has started up a practice again, even though it means a 25 mile round trip by car. He is an experienced contact lens practioner, with recent hospital experience. My contact lenses through him were cheaper and massively more suitable and comfortable than the Boots own brand. |
