I had an appointment for 9.30 as quoted on the phone but when email confirmation sent, said 9.35 but arrive 10 minutes early. I got there at 9.20. The initial booking in person then stated "your not due an eye test till December!" I stated that I was having issues and wanted to also get prescription sun glasses. Told to go to waiting area. The pre tests then carried out at 9.40.Told to wait again. Others coming in were clearly seen before me. at 9.55 I then needed to use the toilet and asked if I could use their toilet, to be told " we dont have toilet facilities, please use the toilets at Debenhams next door". These toilets are a distance away. I asked why my 9.30 appointment was now 30 minutes late? The person I spoke to said she would find out whilst I went to use Debenhams facilities. Upon my return the same person gave me a horrible look and turned away and opened a cupboard to "look busy". I then went to another person who pointed me to the optometrist. I questioned the optometrist as to why i was given an appointment for 9.30, told to arrive 10 minutes early and then being seen at 10.10? The reply:I am sorry I dont know, we had a customer who could only be seen downstairs and there are three of us working ( about 8 just standing around and talking and the phone was ringing with no attempt to answer)! During the actual eye test there there is a knock on the door, the optometrist carried on with the test only for the knock to get louder, she stops and opens the door to another member of staff ( the manager I believe) wanting to turn on the air conditioning as its just been fixed. Why during the middle of an eye test ? Can this not be done before you open the store or in between appointments? This is the second bad experience at this particular branch and staff all standing around have a terrible attitude. Just because the eye test is free they think you are wasting there time. I have spent over £400 in glasses with this branch over the years but no more. With such appalling service and staff attitude I am not spending another penny with them. I am reverting back to an independent opticians practice where the customer is treated with respect and not as a hindrance! People book appointments as they have a busy schedule not because they want to spent nearly 1.5 hours in Specsavers premises! Avoid this place, its the worst and there are plenty of opticians out there but Harrow Specsavers seem to think they are the only opticians and can treat people how they like. Never again for me.
