I am always happy with my treatment here. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. I much prefer these guys to my old opticians, who were just awful with me! Had eye test in Maidstone branch . Optometrist kept cracking funny jokes and every time he asked if my vision was worse or better when he tried me with different lenses. whatever I replied he kept saying , correct' When I said where I worked he said he knew , as he knew everything about me , which made me feel very uneasy.. Enough was enough when I asked advice on my husband's eyes who has recently been diagnosed with a serious eye condition. The Optometrist actually joked about it and laughed. Could not wait to get out of the room . Something as serious as eye sight is not a joking matter .Appualling service from a so called very professional person .
Then The lady refused to give me my prescription and said I was to come back to pick glasses .
So I phoned head office who told me the prescription was mine .
So I went back onto town to pick this up and was told there it was not signed and the optometrist did not work Mondays ..People's prescriptions should be signed for on the day of eye test and customers should not have to travel back and forth .It was obvious they want customers to buy glasses from them.
I emailed head office who was getting Maidstone branch to send it in post ..Waited 10 days and still no prescription. Emailed again. They sent 2nd one out ..
Finally received prescription in post and to this day have only received one ?
Would never use this Optitions again .. I am now worried that the results of eye test are correct due to optometrist larking around
I am considering taking another eye test elswhere for peace of mind |

In there own words as stated by their Head of Customer Care, in an e-mail to me "Optical Express do not want to be part of an ADR scheme (Alternative Dispute Resolution) at this time"
Why not ?
Seems this allows them to just brush you off or ignore your complaint.
According to the e-mail they sent me, XTRActive Transition Lenses can take up to "15" YES "15" minutes to fade back this is dependent on UV exposure and the length of time in UV light, altitude and a little on temperature.
So don't live in the Sahara Desert or Antarctica and don't even consider going to Tibet for altitude training.
None of these were planned by me ever.
What a clever use of words to brush off a real complaint as my lenses take at least 15 minutes to revert back to normal when all I do is get out of the car and walk into a shop. |
