Today I had an eye examination/full health check at the Shrewsbury Optometry. I can truthfully say the person I saw was professional, friendly, honest, down to earth and put me at ease straight away. He thoroughly explained everything step by step throughout the appointment, I felt totally at ease and learned more about my eye health and vision today than in my previous visits elsewhere.
I highly recommend him and the staff there, and I was amazed at how reasonable the cost was for my treatment.
Many thanks. |

Some what bemused by the previous rating re the additional charge.
I have been a patient of Shrewsbury Optometry for over 8 years having damaged my eyesight in an accident. I therefore cherish my remaining eyesight and value the help and support that Shrewsbury Optometry have provided over the years. I have found the Optometrists and the Lens Consultants thoroughly dedicated and above all professional.
They have the latest equipment, including photo imaging and a huge collection of frames and frameless glasses.
For those like myself who are exempt NHS charges, but wish to have a more thorough eye test beyond that of the Standard NHS test, there is the OPTION to pay £35 for an "Extended test", which I recommend.
I would not hesitate in recommending Shrewsbury Optometry. |

I went to this opticians as I had they had been recommended by friends of mine.
I approached this opticians with the expectation that I would be able to make an appointment with them to have an eye test. I said to the receptionist that it was two or three years since I last had an eye test and she asked me a number of other questions in relation to this. The receptionist then shocked me by stating that as I was a new customer there would be a charge of something like £35 for my eye test, even though she had asked my date of birth and I was obviously over 60 years of age, entitling me to free eye tests. There was no offer of a free eye test to which I was entitled only an emphasis on two extra tests completed for new clients. The off-hand nature of the way I had been treated made me feel that I'd had a lucky escape as this may be an example of the whole practice. |
