I must admit I was dubious about my appointment at Tesco Woolwich, having read the other negative experiences at various Tesco Opticians.
I recently attended a pre-booked eye test at the Tesco Woolwich optician. I had booked both an eye test and a contact lens fitting as both were feeling out of date. I was able to book the eye test online but had to ring to book the contact lens fitting for some reason.
I found the staff polite and attentive. During the exam the optician was concerned about a cut on my eye and decided not to do the contact lens fitting. I appreciated their concerns and them putting my welfare above the £15 they could have charged me for the lens fitting.
I had planned on buying glasses at Tesco, just a cheap pair as I normally live in my contact lenses. At no point was I given any sort of 'hard sell' or pressure to buy from them. The optician handed me my prescription and let me wander through the displays, with one member of staff remaining in earshot if needed.
The member of staff who sold me the glasses was equally courteous and again there was zero 'hard sell'. When I asked if I needed the thinner lenses they were honest and said no, the frames I had picked would by fine with the usual set. I appreciated the excellent customer service instead of money grabbing.
As a result of my treatment I would definitely recommend Tesco Woolwich Opticians. |
