I was with specsavers with this branch for years, but when I went recently to check my eyesight - the wrong prescription was given.., to strong. I couldn't see my PC desktop - was blurry and felt extremely uncomfortable. When I went back to check again the prescription, it was prescribed weaker, but it is already the end of the second week and I still awaiting for my new glasses. Did call several times - nobody answered, left the voicemail - nobody called back..., so disappointed this time... |

I have complicated vision problems and have had difficulty sometimes getting opticians to understand what I want, as what I know I need doesn't always tally with what their instruments indicate. The optician at Specsavers was very patient, listened and understood what I was explaining and tailored my prescription exactly as I wanted it. They were very helpful and I'm most grateful. |

London, Strand Specsavers near Holborn. I have visited several different Specsavers branches over the years and have always had a pleasant experience. Today was the first time I was severely upset by how I was treated at Specsavers (my first time at this branch). I had booked a contact lens consultation as I am new to wearing them and had problems with the contacts I had, I was told this was fine and to take a seat until called upon (as is normal procedure). However, *after* the appointment I was told I need to pay £25 for the consultation. Nowhere online, on the phone, in the email booking, or in other Specsavers branches is this stated. I would not have minded either if I was told at the start of the appointment. The optician, who was very kind about this confusion, said she would see what her manager says because she also agreed that was unfair if I hadn't been told this prior to the appointment. Despite being incredibly polite and patient, the manager from the start of my appointment had been very harsh and sharp with me and used this as a reason to be even harsher. She was incredibly rude and berated me in front of the entire store. She told me I had no option but to pay the £25 charge since they had provided a service. I don't deny that they did provide a service, however, at no point was I told there was a fee until the very end which seems like very poor business etiquette and a tactic to force people into appointments just to get payment at the end. I felt completely bullied, humiliated, and inhumanely treated. I know many people too anxious to attend appointments at Specsavers and I honestly thought my experience would help to relieve that anxiety for them, however, I too am now anxious of going to Specsavers after this treatment. This has been deeply upsetting, I left the store crying because of how rudely I was treated and spoken to and I wish for others to avoid this experience. |
