I've been using the pharmacy at Tesco Superstore in Cheltenham for years. I have Addissons disease which requires me to take replacement steriods for life. Early September I ordered a repeat prescription for two medicines that I rely on to live. Not kidding, if I don't take the tablets I will die within a period of days. Today I went in to collect a repeat prescription ordered on-line through my GP's website, only to be told that not only was there no repeat prescripion but that I ddn't exist on their system at all !! So I returned home, checked the GP's website showing that the prescripions were issued on the 6th of September. Phoned the pharmacy back on the mobile number they gave me to be told that it was probably just their system, they would request the surgery to write a new prescription and it would be ready in a few days. The person I spoke to was very blase about it, but I am concerned. I would expect the normal protocol would be for the prescription to come in, the pharmacist to issue the medicaton and for the medication to be stored awaiting collection. So what could have potentially happened? Has Tesco's system crashed and the data lost. Has the system been hacked? Has the prescription been taken illegally. Perhaps the police need to be involved? Whatever the issue. The person at the pharmacy, and on the phone couldn't have cared less."It's probably just our systems". Now maybe I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill. Granted I have a stinking cold but I dragged myself out of bed to travel to the store to get the medications I need on a daily basis and to be disbelieved by counter staff and then shrugged off by whoever was on the phone has triggered this outburst. I would like a response from the store management and my medication, today!
